About the Author

Actually I am an Archaeologist and not a Software Engineer. Java is just one of my hobbies. It all began when I was looking for an input method for Ancient Greek. The ones I found were either too expensive or insufficient and so I decided to create my own. As I found out more about the Internationalization of Java and Unicode I realized that it was not too difficult to add support for all Unicode Characters. After that, I figured that it wouldn't be too hard to turn my editor into an e-mail application that supports Unicode and all the Encodings that Java makes available. After months of work KORAIS turned out to be a very handy application. So why am I not selling it? Simply because I hope to help in this way the distribution and use of ancient languages over the Internet.

Thetis is my new project on statistical analysis of the Homeric and Hesiodic Epic.

This application was named after the Greek scholar Korais, as a small tribute for his significant linguistic contribution.
