About the Author

Actually I am an Archaeologist and not a Software Engineer. Java is just one of my hobbies. It all began when I was looking for an input method for Ancient Greek. The ones I found were either too expensive or insufficient and so I decided to create my own. As I found out more about the Internationalization of Java and Unicode I realized that it was not too difficult to add support for all Unicode Characters. After that, I figured that it wouldn't be too hard to turn my editor into an e-mail application that supports Unicode and all the Encodings that Java makes available. After months of work KORAIS turned out to be a very handy application. So why am I not selling it? Simply because I hope to help in this way the distribution and use of ancient languages over the Internet. By the way, if you are curious about the archaeological project I am currently working on, have a look here. Feel free to contact me at the following email address: kkopanias@gmx.de

Thetis is my new project on statistical analysis of the Homeric and Hesiodic Epic.

This application was named after the Greek scholar Korais, as a small tribute for his significant linguistic contribution.
