Why is KORAIS free ?

Because I am hoping that it is going to encourage the use of ancient languages in the Internet. If you want to support the further development of KORAIS, you can Make a Donation.

What is Sun's JRE Environment and why do I need it for KORAIS?

Every application written in JAVA, including KORAIS, can be executed only if a Java Runtime Environment (e.g. from Sun Microsystems, Inc) is already installed on your computer. KORAIS is supporting Unicode 4.1 and so you need to have JRE 5.0 Update 5  (or newer). Just click on the previous link and then click on Sun's page click on "Download JRE 5.0 (...)". Then click on "Accept" and download the right JRE for your Operating System. Install the file you have just downloaded and reboot your system (if you have Windows). Then just double-click on "Korais.exe" or "Korais.jar" to launch the application.

I double-click on the "Korais.exe" or "Korais.jar" but I get an error message.

Most probably you do not have the right Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed on your compyter. Please install JRE 5.0 Update 5  (or newer) before you try to launch the KORAIS. If the problem still exists, you can Report a Bug.
